BOTANICAL DESIGN · ART DIRECTION · MATERIAL RESEARCH
Blomour is a botanical design practice working across space, architecture and natural materials.
The practice explores the relationship between botanical materials, architecture and space.
It develops site specific botanical installations, spatial compositions, creative direction and material research for brands, spaces and cultural projects.
Every project begins with observation. Architecture, light, proportion, material and movement inform the process before botanical elements are introduced.
Rather than treating plants as decoration, Blomour approaches botanical material as part of the design process, exploring its form, character, seasonality and relationship with space.
Based between Milan and London, working internationally.
FOUNDER AND CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Fausta Bonfrate is a designer whose practice brings together architectural thinking, spatial composition and material research. She holds a degree in Industrial Design from Rome and began her career working across international architecture and design studios in Europe, the UK and Australia.
She founded Blomour as an evolution of this design background, developing a practice centred on botanical materials, site specific work and the relationship between natural materials and space.
Her approach is also informed by her study of Japanese Ikebana, through which she continues to explore composition, perception and the character of natural materials.
